Name?: Melanie Location: France Other sites you’re on: nope, I'm pretty much stuck on LJ land. Over or Under 18: I'm 29 to be precise. What's in your LJ? A lot of fandom posts mixed with some personal stuff. How often do you post in your LJ? It can go from twice a week to every two days depending on how much work is kicking my ass.
Outlander (I’m basing this on the show since not everyone has read the books. If you wish to speak about the books, which you totally should feel free to do, please put anything behind a spoiler cut).
Have you read the books? No but I intend to when the hiatus starts. Favourite characters: Hum, Jamie? and Jamie. And Jamie. I'm joking (only a little) because I LOVE Claire as well. She's a very interesting and refreshing female character. Geillis seems intriguing so I'm waiting to see more of her. What’s your favourite thing about the show so far? I really love the pacing. I didn't like the first episode much but once the show traveled to Scotland, the pacing wasn't an issue anymore because of how interesting everything became. I love learning about lifestyles and other cultures so this is working pretty great for me! What is one thing you wish the show would improve on? I'm one of those people not completely in love with the voice overs although I haven't complained about them in two or three episodes so I think they're starting to annoy me less and less. They sounded a little too much in the first episode. Caitriona is a great actress and Claire's motives are often quite clear so a lot of the voice overs in the first few episodes felt unnecessary/distracting but lately, they've been less... useless, I guess. Favourite moments so far: Anything that has Jamie and Claire interacting tbh. I also really love scenes like feasts or gatherings. Favourite pairings: Jamie/Claire (obviously) and pretty much Jamie/Claire right now since I haven't read the books :)
Other fandoms/Non fannish interests.
Other shows you watch, characters you love, pairings you’ll ship till the end of time: Apart from Outlander, I also really love Penny Dreadful, Arrow, Orphan Black and lots more than you can find here (http://woodenshores.livejournal.com/11723.html#cutid1). But lately, apart from Outlander, I'm completely into K-drama. Favourite movies/musicians/models, etc: Pretty much everything you need to know about me is here (http://woodenshores.livejournal.com/2681.html#cutid1) Other interests: Traveling and reading are my main hobbies. But I talk about traveling more than I talk about reading ;-) Anything else you’d like to share with us: Obligatory Outlander gif
Aww, thank you, that's really nice!! I'm French but I studied english at university and lived a year in Birmingham (UK) and a year in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
My best friend also lives in the UK so since I try to go and visit her every year, I manage to maintain both my written and spoken english. It's still so nice to hear that I am not completely losing it :D Thanks!
I've been told (by my teachers at university) that my accent is a weird cross between brilliant and plain weird lol. I think I'll never quite manage the "th" sound no matter how hard I try :)
Yes, the "th" sound is difficult if you haven't learned it as a child. I have a problem with the French R. I can never say "rue" properly. And I love the rolled R in Gaelic, Spanish and Italian, but I usually can't do that correctly either.
Oh hi. You are apparently awesome and have all the correct fandoms. I am friending you right freaking now! And thank you for doing this because I was seriously considering it myself and didn't even know where to begin!
Haha, omg, I looked through your dreamwidth and I love that you're posting some serious links about Outlander and its making and I'm just a Jamie objectification gif poster. Guess we'll compliment each other pretty well :)
Yay. I actually need all the Jamie objectification posts I can get, as I am hopeless at Tumblr and well, Jamie's gifs just make anyone's life better. :D

No, you're definitely not losing it. You write it perfectly and I suspect you speak it perfectly as well.
