Outlander (I’m basing this on the show since not everyone has read the books. If you wish to speak about the books, which you totally should feel free to do, please put anything behind a spoiler cut).
Have you read the books? I've read the first one and intend to start the second one as soon as I can get my hands on a copy. Favourite characters: Obviously I love Claire because she's a fighter in a world where women were second class citizens. I don't think anyone can help but love Jamie. His character is one of the most singular magnetic characters that I've ever encountered in fiction. I also have a special place in my heart for Ned Gowan the lawyer. I can relate to his sense of adventure and romanticism. What’s your favourite thing about the show so far? I like the little bits and pieces that aren't in the book. For example the bit in the last episode with the hot piss - while gross I like that they're putting in a lot of historical detail which can only enhance the viewers' belief in the story. It feels so real. What is one thing you wish the show would improve on? I find the pace a bit frustrating but at the same time the slow progression will make the inevitable explosive. Favourite moments so far: I loved the bar brawl in the most recent episode. When I read a similar scene in the book I was hearing a jolly bagpipe tune comically playing in the background and the TV show did just that. Favourite pairings: Claire/Jamie, obviously. Angus/alcohol is pretty great too.
