Outlander I stumbled onto the books when I walked into my at-the-time-local book store during their 60% off fiction sale. I can't say I'm very well read but I like what I like and when I picked up book one of this series and read the back cover I was hooked. They have been the soulmates of my reading life ever since, the ones I always go back to.
Have you read the books? Yes, yes, yes, more times than I can count or remember. Favourites are Outlander (aka Cross Stitch), Voyager, and A Breathe of Snow and Ashes. I’m currently up to page four of book 8
Favourite characters: Mrs Fitz, Claire, Jamie, and the guy that follows Claire around. I think Father Bane is going to be one that I love to hate.
What’s your favourite thing about the show so far? It’s fantastic cinematography – utterly breath-taking!
What is one thing you wish the show would improve on? I’ve read a lot of comments about the voiceovers, but honestly, I’m absolutely ok with everything. I’m just ravenously devouring every second of air time and craving more. I’m sure, once I’m onto rewatches and have the discs at home to watch whenever the desire takes hold, then I’ll be noticing more and more of the finer details.
Favourite moments so far: - Claire’s climb to the stones, having read the book, I was sitting on the edge of my seat whispering “This is it! OMG! Here we go! This is it!” - Hearing Jamie say “I canna ride a horse”, for some reason hearing that, fixed Sam as Jamie in my heart, and I remember settling back in my seat and knowing that everything was going to be ok. - The scene by the river where Jamie’s pointing his sword at Claire: “Then I guess you’ll be comin’ w’me.” Love that scene.
Favourite pairings: I don’t know if I’ll be shipping or writing fic for Outlander, Diana did such a fabulous job I don’t consider anything to be lacking; but naturally I love Claire/Jamie
Other fandoms/Non fannish interests. Fandoms: Stargate Atlantis, Supernatural (these are the two I’m active in, but there are a tonne more that I watch and love). Interests: Writing, Photography, Painting, Reading, Boogie-boarding, Cooking.
